I would have only been 3 but I've seen the game back and I remember my grandad had it on VHS too.
A match which probably sums up West Ham United. Horrendously shit in the league that season and we totally outplay the reigning champions and most successful team of the decade who are about to win the double.
Makes you wonder what we could have achieved playing like that. We'd have stayed up comfortably that year for a start.
That game probably got Ince a move to Man Utd as well.

Staffs. Correct I think we lost 5-2 at home to the mickeys that year. I remember Ray Stewart breaking the net with a penalty during that game.

I was grounded for some reason. Succeeded in avoiding knowing the score before midweek sports special started that night. Fuck me. I had the broadest grin on my face at school next day. Lots of blacks and Asians in my school which meant a lot of piss taking on my part. Being west ham, you dont get many days like that.

Had to miss this game as my Dad couldn't go, was gutted. Sure I listened to it on the radio instead!
Also still remember jumping around listening to the radio when Rosenoir put us 1-0 up at Anfield on our last game of the season which we had to win to stay up. Was convinced we were staying up.

They beat us 5-1 at their place that year the last match which we had to win to stay up
Let it equalised but we got done on the break at the end
That was the game that meant Arsenal had to go to anfield and win by two which they famously did
